Hello Jay, Assuming the Hadley materials are unprotected, you could play them in Read2Go. While this app is primarily designed for reading Bookshare books, it does play DAISY text-only, audio-only, and text and audio DAISY books using DAISY 2.02 and 3.0. You can read text-only books with either VoiceOver or built-in a capella voices. You can navigate by phrase or heading, or depending on how good the markup is, you can view a table of contents and pick a section from there. You can also change the playback speed of DAISY audio or text.
By the way, NLS cartridges are just thumb drives shaped so they'll fit in an NLS player, so you can attach them to a computer and access files on them even if you don't have such a player. And to put a book into read2Go, you need to zip the folder containing the book and use iTunes file sharing to copy it to your iPhone.
