You could use the camera kit, I've heard that this does work with some USB keyboards - more so with an iPad though. I've been able to use my camera kit to connect a USB headset to my iPad. Both the Mic and headphones worked with the iPad, it did not work with my iPhone. A lot of it comes down to the power requirements of the USB device you are connecting.
