That's not true. If you disable 3G, you will use mobile data on the slower
GPRS/EDGE network, and you will not be able to use Visual VoiceMail, only
available on O2.

My husband has heard on the radio that the 3G setting in Network on the
iPhone has no usefulness here in the UK. I have wondered about this so
