To create one, go to the following website: http://AppleID.apple.com Not sure which screenreader you are using, if it is Jaws, just do an Insert+F7 once the site has loaded to bring up a list of all links on the site, in my case there are 28 links and if you type the letter "c" twice, you will find a link called "Create Apple Id", it's link 11 of 28 on my computer. The form you have to fill out is pretty standard, your primary email will become your Apple Id, you select a password and then a security question to which you give the answer and then select your birth date, these are all standard combo drop-down boxes. Then you fill in your address and all that and at the very end comes the big surprise, a captcha without an audio option. So, if you use Firefox and Webvisum you should be in good shape, if not make sure you have a sighted person around when you do this. There are also 2 checkboxes which are checked by default for an Apple newsletter which is not bad and then for a weekly iTunes newsletter which I personally unchecked. Once everything is done you have a "Create Apple Id" button at the end. Now, in order to buy apps, music, movies, audio books or anything else you will have to either put a credit card on file or you have to buy iTunes gift cards and, if you for example buy a $50 iTunes gift card and redeem it, you have that balance available for buying anything including apps. You can turn one-click buying or whatever Apple calls it on and then if you buy an app it will ask you for your Apple Id and password, typically your Apple Id (which is the email you used) will be there next time and all you have to do is type in your password. One last recommendation. Make sure your password is a good password, don't use a simple name or word, make sure it has at least some upper case and some lower case letters and a couple of numbers. I never use anything that's an actual word, I may think of a particular sentence I can remember and then use the first letters of each word and then I throw in some numbers and if the site allows it even some special symbols like an exclamation mark, underline, dollar sign or percent sign. Apple, by the way, does allow symbols, so no worries there.
