Don't quite follow how that would help, Chris, but perhaps you can explain it to me off list.

Meantime all is now well and it did appear that it was some kind of outage and, eventually, it was rectified.

My only suggestion is to try changing the DNS on the
phone to 8.8.8.8, which is Google's public DNS. Go to
settings, wifi, double tap more info next to the

Hi all,

I have hit a real mess-up problem and am not sure how to
solve it.
So far I've taken all out of app switcher and rebooted,
and will try a hard reset if I must ...

Basically, I have my iPhone and Pod using the same
log-in password and have had no problems till now. Today I went to purchase an app on my phone and kept
getting a message, whilst in the App Store and
attempting to purchase, that "Unable to connect to
ITunes Store.  (Bear in mind, I'm in the App Store!)
The result is that I cannot download apps to my phone
but, when trying the same procedure with my iPod, this
works.  Unfortunately, the purchase hasn't been
transferred to my phone.
Ugh!  Any suggestions on this one are most welcome.
