Hi Kari and Jennifer,

There seems to be a focus issue with the ViA app if you let it read through to
the end of the descriptive document. Try removing the app from the app
switcher, then relaunch it. When it starts up again, flick to the recommended
apps, search, etc. and double tap to launch. What's happening is that once you
do your read all through the description of why the app was created, all the
options for recommended apps, search, etc. are scrolled off the top of the
visible screen. Apparently when the options are not on the visible portion of
the screen, you can't flick back to them and double tap to activate the
controls. But if you relaunch the app and just flick to the controls or use
your finger to run vertically up and down the visible part of the screen you
can activate any of the controls. I think I first tried a three-finger flick
down to scroll back to these options at the top of the page and couldn't do it,
but you might try that first. The other way to handle this is to do a
triple-click home to turn VoiceOver off, and then flick a finger vertically
down the center of the screen, then click on again. Once I did that, the
scrolling gestures worked for me, and as long as you stay in the section with
the options to review the apps, you can navigate.

I loaded the app on my iPad before I read your posts, because I was working on
it when the original message came in. On the iPad, the larger screen real
estate means that options for navigating to reviews are still on the visible
page along with the text explanation section, although the problem still exists
there. I simply didn't finish reading the section crediting partners, etc.
before I flicked back to recommended apps. Had I done so, that option would
have been just off the top of the visible portion of the screen, and I would
not have been able to flick back to it and double tap to access it. Also, if I
had been using the iPad in landscape mode and read to the end of the page, none
of the options to view the recommended apps, search apps, recently added apps,
etc. would have been in the visible area and available to me. I found this out
when I tried checking the app again after your posts, and then I tried loading
the app onto my iPhone.

With the app loads on the iPhone, the same content occupies 4 pages if you can
scroll back -- which I think I initially could not. So none of the viewing
options would be available here. And I did try a double tap and hold to pull
down the page, but that didn't worked, either. On the iPad version I think I
got a message like "Content pull down" but could not actually move to the top.
However, once you toggle VoiceOver off and scroll by flicking a finger up on
the screen with standard gestures, you're able to perform the three-finger
scrolling gestures with VoiceOver.

I'm cc'ing a copy of this to the original poster of the app.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
