I just leave the All folder alone. I just use it when I want to look for a message, and I'm not sure what folder it might be in. The All folder should contain all of the messages you have in all of your folders except the Trash folder. Messages in the All folder will stay there forever, until you delete them or move them into the Trash folder. Only messages in the Trash folder get deleted after 30 days.
