Andrew, I have no clue. When I got my 5s they deactivated my iPhone 4.
Nobody said anything about any card. I can connect my iPhone 4 to my home
WI-FI network. From there I can update apps and such. I can download
content from NLS bard. I just can't use it as a phone. My guess would be
the card would probably still be in place. As long as it's doing what I
want it to do, I don't care if it has a card or not. It's now not an iPhone
and acts like an iPod. That's all I can tell you. Sorry I can't add more.
Regards,
Alan

There, you'll find free files of my arrangements and performances played on
the Yamaha Tyros 1 keyboard. I often add files so check back regularly!
The albums in Technics format formerly on my website are still
available upon request. Thanks for listening!

I'm just wondering, following this thread, whether I could use an old iphone
without the SIM card and treat it as ipod touch? Would I have all its
wireless capabilities without the SIM card?

It's an iPod Touch then. That's how I use my iPhone 4, 32 GB. It also
makes a great book player for listening to NLS Talking Books. One big
advanatge is you can use a Bluetooth ear peace or wireless or wired head
phones. I like the bluetooth ear peace method. My Plantronics Voyager
Legend sounds pretty good and the start stop button will pause or play so
if you get an incoming call, the talking book gets put on pause. and,
your hands are still free.

I feel like I should know the answer to this question, but I don't.
I'm getting a new iPhone today but will probably go for something with
less storage than what I currently have. I use my phone for listening
to music quite a lot and I was wondering, once the new phone has been
activated, can I use the old phone as a music player? Is there any
reason I couldn't do this? Or is there anything special I need to do
to be able to do it?
Thanks,
Kimber
