Nothing to do except do it. If your old phone has been activated you can even
take the SIM card out, it will work fine without a SIM card and you can use
everything on the phone except the phone. Of course you have to be connected to
WiFi if you want to use apps which require data.is activated

Subject: Can I use my old phone as a music player?

I feel like I should know the answer to this question, but I don't.

I'm getting a new iPhone today but will probably go for something with less
storage than what I currently have. I use my phone for listening to music quite
a lot and I was wondering, once the new phone has been activated, can I use the
old phone as a music player? Is there any reason I couldn't do this? Or is
there anything special I need to do to be able to do it?

Thanks,
Kimber
