OK, the plastic piece with all the holes is called the Device holder. The large 
oval hole is near the top and the metal angle brace is on the back. The bottom 
of that piece has some rectangle holes at the bottom that the clips on the 
floor of the ScanJig hook into. 
The long thin plastic piece is the shelf your phone will sit on.
It has two peg like things sticking out. If you hold it with the flat side up 
and those pegs pointed away from you, they fit into two of the holes on the 
device holder. there are ten holes on each side, and I recommend putting that 
shelf in the second hole from the top.
Then, put the device holder in the front slot on the bottom sides and slightly 
push it forward until those clips in the bottom catch in it.
Then you put the phone on that shelf just to the right of the left column of 
holes so the camera is pretty much centered pointing toward the document.
