Kim, I'm on a 3gs, and while the program was working fairly well for me in its initial release, I found it very helpful to settle into a steady, not too fast rhythm. I've found the latest update to be more responsive, and I've been able to pick up the pace accordingly. It's a very welcome development for this former Qwerty keyboard user. :)
