There are two issues going on here. First, you already have the
operating system taking up some space on the drive to which it's
installed, which wouldn't be true of an external drive. Second, hardware
manufacturers measure things in multiples of 1000 bits whereas operating
systems count in units of 1024 bits. Therefore, a drive will always look
a bit smaller to the operating system then what you get on the drives

hi all i have a 16 gig iphone. and it says i am useing 3 gigs of it,

and its still taking up allot of space on my phone. and with face book i

world is useing 158 mb and the app size is 70.8 mb and face book is 132
mb and the app size is 91.7 mb. so if anyone can help me to free up more
