Hello Sieghard and list
I sent an email to Apple's accessibility people and the answer warries me a
bit. The email stated that iTunes 12.1 works well with Window Eyes and that
other screen readers need to be upgraded. From that I assume that Apple is not
going to do anything about the problem.

  HiJonathan,

I think there is a bit confusion here since Andy mentioned a Podcast about
“iTunes 12.1” with Jaws. I think you are correct and he was referring to the
Podcast Tom did a while back on iTunes 12 with Jaws. I believe people were
looking for a recent Podcast done after last week’s update.

  Regards,

  Sieghard

Hi all, you can hear Thom Spittle's piece on iTunes 12 and JAWS as part of
FSCast episode 101.

I looked at Applevis.com in the newest additions section as well as using
the key word of iTunes in a podcast search and found no such animal. Where is
this podcast found, or how? Thanks.

There is an Applevis podcast that is entitled iTunes 12.1 with JAWS, but
the key commands given are iTunes commands, not screen reader commands, so they
should work with any screen reader.

I think he was responded to which screen readers would work with iTunes
12 and the information provided was incorrect.

Actually, that's not so stupid. It is the first thing that I would do.
It is possible that screen reader updates may fix a situation. If there is no
such update, then I would make Apple aware of the situation.

          Hi all,

This is the dum response I got from Apple when I reported on how
inaccessible it was to our software. Don’t know how they made their choice in
view of the fact that, right now, JAWS is the most popular screen reading
software in the world. I’d like to know how people using Windows Eyes are
doing with iTunes 12.1

            Hello,

Thank you for your email. At this time Apple includes support for the
Window-Eyes screen reader in iTunes. Other screen readers may require an
update.

If you find that another screen reader is not working correctly,
please check with the application developer to see if they have an update for
the software.
