Alan, is this the google voice app, or the google now app?

Thanks much.

With the Google app, you are able to launch the voice service by speaking "Okay
Google" when the app is open. This is similar to the "Hey Siri" feature
recently added to iOS but it doesn't require that your device be plugged into a
power source.

I find that occasionally saying "Okay Google" has no response from their
built-in voice but when that happens, I simply double tap the Voice Search
button in the bottom center of the screen and I get the tone telling me it's
ready to hear my question.

I think the Google voice service works far and away better than Siri. At least
that's been my experience with the type of questions I ask.

You say that “Ok, Google” is found in the Google app.
Can you explain further?

Siri is very limited. I love using ok google, found in the Google app. The only
answer i get from Siri is: here's what I found on the web. Ok google gives
direct answers 85 percent of the time and when I am referred to the web, the
results are much easier to work with than using the web results from Siri.

Yes, Siri can do some things, but not as much as the others. To me she is way
to limited and in some cases down right stupid. Just my opinion.

Subject: SIRI LAGGING BEHIND OTHERS!

Hi all,

I've been a bit annoyed with Siri lately, to say the least, to the point where
I'm really not using her very much at all, but getting much better success with
Google (when I can get the iPhone app to work) and like what I've heard of
Quantana.

Well, don't want to stray too much from the point but I did try Siri first
yesterday, asking in various ways where the Poundland shop was in my home town.
Well, I got nowhere and in fact would havge gone round and round in
never-ending circles if I hadn't just stopped Siri and returned to the Google
app. I asked the question: "Where is the Poundland shop in Reading" and got
an immediate response with the address. I was chuffed.

I wonder if it's time for us to make comments to Apple on Siri's seeming lack
of response to those everyday questions?

Have other had experience of Siri that has tended to put you off her use? If
so, what sort of things have you asked. Maybe someone else on list may know
just how to get the correct answer - but I know I just ask in a way that I
think should be understood and can't often remember a correct method!
