Sometimes the nutritional information is included when using Digit-Eyes. The issue with not knowing where to find the bar code is a universal issue, not limited to any one app.
The rule of thumb is that on canned goods, the bar code is usually to the left of the label seam on the lower half of the can. On bags, also to the left of the seam toward the bottom. Boxes, often on the bottom, or on the side near the bottom. Beyond that, it is a guessing game if you have no vision like many of us. Even though there is no app, if you know the brand and size of the container, you can also get this information from www.directionsforme.com <http://www.directionsforme.com> It also gives you the package directions for many products, not just food. The tips on how to find the scan button worked well. I had the same experience regarding not finding a scan button. I went back to Digit-Eyes to find a location of a barcode on a can of goods. Once I knew the location, I went back to the app. When the app finds the barcode, it automatically scans it and the info is read by flicking around the screen. This doesn't really help us out if we don't have any idea of where the barcode is located. It's worth making the developer aware of the visually impairs issue in scanning food goods.
