I recently read somewhere that in one of the upcoming iOS versions the Passbook
app will be improved to offer such functionality. I think ultimately we may
look forward to when the Passbook app knows that you are in a particular store
and where your rewards card is displayed right on the lockscreen so you can
show it without even having to unlock your phone. This is how electronic
boarding passes work now, if I add a flight to the Air Canada app I can check
in for that flight 24 hours before and once I am done I have the option to add
the boarding app to Passbook. Once I do that, the boarding pass is on my lock
screen just like a notification and I can double tap on it to display it
including the barcode which gets scanned at the security gate.

Sieghard

Hand It To

While this is concerning, I would be more interested to know if the
virtual apps that store reward cards are even accessible to blind/low
vision users. And if so, then how do you transfer your reward cards
from the individual apps to the one that stores them all? Finally,
anyone know of such an app to sore reward cards?

I realize that this thought is after the fact and may not help Mark,
but this is a good reason for having a case on your phone. Granted,
the employee shouldn't have dropped the phone in the first place, but
accidents happen.
