Easiest way to look this up is by going into the /app Store app on your iPhone. Make sure the "featured" tab is selected, then touch it again and swipe left twice until you hear "Apple Id" followed by your Apple Id email address. Double tap on this and find the button "View Apple Id" on the next screen. Double tap on it and enter your Apple Id password, you can then find the gift card balance at the top of the screen, if you swipe it is one swipe to the right of the "Done" button which is at the very top right of the screen.
