*Apple Watch is splash and water resistant but not waterproof. You can, for
example, wear and use Apple Watch during exercise, in the rain, and while
washing your hands, but submerging Apple Watch is not recommended. Apple Watch
has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. The leather
bands are not water resistant.

does anyone know how weather proof this watch is?
as it could be very handy when I go out riding if it is reasonably weather
proof, rather than having to try to juggle the reins and the iPhone.

Hi Allen,

Jonathan has confirmed that the Apple watch does have full Voiceover support
and if you Google this you can find some information about it. If you listen
to the keynote apps for the Apple Watch are a big topic and there will be
thousands in April when the watch is released and yes, people have to use
the Apple Watch app on the iPhone to look for and get apps for the Apple
Watch. Also, settings including accessibility settings are done via the
Apple Watch app.

Whether you shell out $349 (the minimum for the smaller of the Apple Sport
Watch) is of course up to you and a decision based on whether you need an
Apple Watch. I think for many the "need" factor is more a "want" and "it's
cool" factor. Apple of course makes it sound like people definitely would
want an Apple Watch which of course is normal. If you want a nice band for
the watch that will cost you another $50 minimum and I think you can easily
spend $100 or $150 for the fancier bands and the stainless steel watch, the
one they call actually "Apple Watch" will set you back a minimum fo $550 for
the smaller version (38mm) and $599 for the larger (42mm) version and it
goes to $1,050 and $1,100 respectively. You could of course sell your
motorhome and get the Gold version which starts at ten thousand *smile*.

Anyhow, Jonathan already said that he will buy one via his business since it
is his business to be informed and write about it so if you subscribe to his
Twitter feed or check his website you'll be able to read some good articles
about how the accessibility is implemented and how it really works a little
while after April 24. My guess is that it will work quite well, but I'm sure
we will find out.

Regards,
Sieggard

The Apple Watch app gets added to the first page. In the app is something
interesting though. They are going to have an apple watch app store. I
wonder what that's all about and, do we know if the Apple Watch will have
Voice Over? Before I shell out $349 for a watch, I'd like to know about
it's accessibility first and I recon you would too.
