OK, it is possible after all. I tried to do what the help file said the first time, but there is something I didn't know. You have to be quick about this task. If you are playing a preview and you tap the info button in the bottom left corner, You have to quickly tap in about the same place and you will get a dialog opened that has a delete button. The screen changes rather quickly after you tap the info button, so you can't wait very long to do the second tap, but if you do it quick enough, it works. I think you have to be quite close to the info button to make this work, but I have not played with this much to find out other places you may be able to tap. But I have been able to use this strategy to delete my previews.
