John, Yes, you can play mp3 audio files in Voice Dream Reader and also change the speed at which they read. When you've got the file in your library and selected it to play, choose audio settings from the top line menu and a speed bar will be presented where you can select the playback speed. Also, mp3 files in your library will be audibly identified as audio by VoiceOver.
