Hello, 
It appears that, even if one has set typing feedback to characters, they are 
not spoken out in Braille input. It's trial and error but works quite well once 
you get the hang of it. A work around is to type 1 character and backspace with 
left single finger swipe !hear what dots are being inputed. 

Interestingly, there used to be a half baked feature in 8.2 called explore 
mode. 
It is now gone completely if I'm right but gives me hope it's in the works. 
I'll ask accessibility about it. 

About dot calibration you have to start with dots 456 and then follow with 123 
and should then hear "Dots calibrated"
