The two times I restored it to factory settings, in preparation for restoring
it, I had it connected to iTunes, and told iTunes I wanted to restore it, as
opposed to setting it up as a new phone. When I get ready to sell my iPhone 5,
I will reset it to factory settings to erase all my data. My question: When I
do this, assuming it is not connected to iTunes, will it reset itself to
factory specifications, then turn itself off when it is finished, so that its
new owner can turn it on and set it up, or will I need to know when it is
finished erasing everything and turn it off myself? If the former, I will
erase it without connecting it to iTunes. If the latter, I will connect it to
iTunes so I will know when it is ready to be set up. If I have to connect it
to iTunes, can I just turn it off when it gets to this set up screen? I have
already restored all its data to my new phone, so I do not need to back it up
again, just erase it.

Thanks for any information.
