Just curious: Why not leave voice over on. And if I don't leave it on,
will clicking the home button three times turn it on?
It all is a moot point now, I guess, in that I have decided to keep it. I
like my new, 128-gig model fine, but the old one has sentimental value to
me. It didn't take me long to realize that it was the most life changing
piece of electronics I had ever bought.

Hi,
I've done this a few times and can confirm that if you turn the phone
off when it's on the setup screen the next time it is turned on it
will just go back to said screen allowing its new owner to set it up.
Just make sure you don't leave VoiceOver on.
Cheers,
Ben.

Then, is it okay for me to turn it off after it has reset, and when the
new
owner turns it on, it will be on that setup screen? I don't want to mess
it
up by doing something wrong. I guess, being totally blind, I would be
better
off to hook it up to iTunes so I will know when it gets to that screen.
Again, thanks for any information.

Hi,
Once the reset finishes the phone just sits on the setup screen
waiting for input - it doesn't turn off on its own.
Cheers,
Ben.

The two times I restored it to factory settings, in preparation for
restoring it, I had it connected to iTunes, and told iTunes I wanted to
restore it, as opposed to setting it up as a new phone. When I get ready
to
sell my iPhone 5, I will reset it to factory settings to erase all my
data.
My question: When I do this, assuming it is not connected to iTunes,
will
it reset itself to factory specifications, then turn itself off when it
is
finished, so that its new owner can turn it on and set it up, or will I
need
to know when it is finished erasing everything and turn it off myself?
If
the former, I will erase it without connecting it to iTunes. If the
latter,
I will connect it to iTunes so I will know when it is ready to be set up.
If I have to connect it to iTunes, can I just turn it off when it gets to
this set up screen? I have already restored all its data to my new
phone,
so I do not need to back it up again, just erase it.
Thanks for any information.
