I don't see the message being responded to below, so I apologize if this isn't appropriate for this thread, but I stopped using rechargable batteries in my bluetooth keyboards a while ago. Alkaline batteries will keep their charge for years if they aren't or are only slightly used, whereas rechargable batteries will start losing their charge immediately, even if they aren't being used. Their shelf life is a fraction of an alkaline battery's. For devices like keyboards or mice, which aren't used frequently, and don't consume a lot of power when they are being used, I prefer an alkaline battery and use my rechargeable batteries in things like my MP3 players that go through batteries rather quickly.

True, you're not recharging directly into the keyboard, but what's the
diff so long as you have batteries with usable charge!
