Could it be because you have Touch ID enabled? I'm just guessing since I
still have an iPhone 4S.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying, but there is an option where
you can only require a passcode after you haven't used your phone for
a certain period of time. Go into Settings -> Passcode and see what
the require passcode option is set to. Mine is set to after one minute.

To do the trick is to ask Seri what the temperature is.
In the lower right hand corner pass the times of the
day with the temperature there is a weather channel
button.
Click on the button that will open the internet or safari.

I have the Iphone 6+. Not sure if this will work on
other phones.
