That might be it. It makes little sense to have it not lock immediately because
if you use the home button, instead of power to unlock, it's almost as fast as
not having a pass code.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying, but there is an option where you
can only require a passcode after you haven't used your phone for a certain
period of time. Go into Settings -> Passcode and see what the require passcode
option is set to. Mine is set to after one minute.

To do the trick is to ask Seri what the temperature is.
In the lower right hand corner pass the times of the day with the
temperature there is a weather channel button.
Click on the button that will open the internet or safari.
Once you open safari, hit the home button to close out of the net
and it takes you back to your home screen or back to the desktop as I like to
call it lol.
I have the Iphone 6+. Not sure if this will work on other phones.
I mean like the 5S and 6.
