Drives me crazy when I see posts from a couple of hours ago then a week ago
that I already saw or in a couple of cases from June of last year. It makes
little sense to me.

By default Facebook remembers the peoples post that you like or comment on, and
it will show more of the post from them.

I did notice that there were some people and pages that I never see post from,
and I know that there has been post that I have missed. I do not like Facebook
choosing whose post they think I want to see!!

After looking around in the app, I noticed that there was a newsfeed
preferences button on the more tab near the bottom of that screen.

If you double tap that, it will show you all of the people and pages you have,
and if you are still following them. I noticed that some of mine had been
changed to follow, which means you are no longer following them. After I went
through all of mine, I noticed that I started getting all of my post again like
I should. So I would recommend checking out these preferences to make sure you
are seeing the post you want.

Chris

I think if you “like” certain items in your news feed then you will see more
from that person or group. I think this does work so I sometimes “like” items
just to be sure I see more of the ones from that person or group.

I think this might have been a tip from Kim Komando but I am not sure.

On the same topic, is there a way to view one specific newsfeed over another?
For example, if I see Mary's newsfeed then Joe then Susan but I want to see
more of Mary is there a way to do that? Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance

If you want to view some ones profile then in the facebook app double tapp more
at the bottom of the screen.

Then swipe to friends and then double tapp.

Then swipe to the friend whos profile you want to view and then double tapp.

then you should see there profile.

That is if that is what you are trying to do.

Now as far as the statuses being hours apart like one status was posted 1 hour
another was posted 6 hours I don't see a way to fix that at this time.

Ok, thank you for answering questions 1, 4, and 5. The second and third
questions are more difficult, but can anyone comment on those please?

Thank you.

Hi no there is no difference between the what's on your mind and the status
button.

The message friends button does send private messages.

The check in button allows you to check in to a place such as a restaurant or
grocery store.

It basically allows your friends to know wheir you are.

All, I am fairly new to the facebook app and to FB in general—thus the
following questions that I put in 1 message rather than send multiple:

1. Is there any difference between where it says “status button” and “what’s
on your mind?”

2. Always when I am trying to look at my newsfeed, stuff appears out of order,
one post from 6 hours ago, one from 2, no order at all and no understandable
sequence, if 1 person posts 2 things, they are not even together. Is that
something that can be changed or reordered? Additionally, the app seems quite
unstable—I flick right to see the next story, and right in the middle I hear
“notifications” or “more” and I’m not even touching the screen. Any ideas?

3. If I am trying to locate someone, do I have to tap their name and tap it
again once the second screen comes up? I’d like to find the text information in
their profile as quickly as possible to rule out whether the person I’m looking
for is the person mentioned or not.

4. What does checkin do?

5. Finally, does “message friends” send private messages that do not appear on
someone’s timeline?

Thank you.
