I don't have any problems using the native mail app with Gmail. The only reason 
I had to turn off to factor authentication was so I could set up my Gmail 
account with outlook 2013. For some reason, outlook doesn't support two-step 
authentication. I find that to be utterly ridiculous, but that's Microsoft for 
you.
