Hello Christopher, I have no doubt but that Apple will allow anyone to opt out of the subscription service.
No, my only concern is if those of us still using iTunes 11 For windows will have to update to a later version of iTunes in order to continue to sync non-subscription items such as private mp3s or audiobook files.
