Mark, I feel exactly like you and won't be jumping on the iOS 8.4 upgrade until I'm sure I'll still be able to run iTunes 11.x on my Windows desktop. I figure it's inevitable at some point that Apple will force me to upgrade iTunes if I continue to upgrade my iPhone but I will resist as long as possible.
I tend to be a lot more interested in retaining access to what I have and know as opposed to obtaining access to some new feature set offered by an upgrade that very often seems to mess up my functioning apps. And I pretty much already own the music I enjoy and am not a fan of streaming it.
