Hi Eve,
If the music on your iPod was previously synced to it from an iTunes library and you now sync that iPod to a new iTunes library without music you will loose everything. Unfortunately you cannot sync music back to iTunes once it’s on an iOS device. If you have the music on your computer but it doesn’t show up in iTunes that is simply because you haven’t added it to your iTunes library. In order to do this, first make sure the music is where you eventually want it, e.g. that it is on the drive and in the folder where you want to keep it. Now open iTunes, go to the File menu and select the “Add folder to library” option. This opens a standard windows dialogue, browse to the folder where your music is and activate the select button. This will add all the music in whatever folder you are pointing to to your iTunes library. If successful, make sure you are in the iTunes area of iTunes not the device area (just disconnect your device to make double sure), then if you press Control+1 for the music library, you should see all of your music there. If the music on your iPod was purchased from iTunes you can sync it back to your iTunes library by selecting “File”, “Devices” and “Transfer Purchases”. But this only works with music purchased from iTunes not with music that you ripped from CD’s and previously synced to your iPod. Hi, Thanks for answering my post. I thought the songs were on my computer in ITunes. Maybe I need to synch my IPod to make sure they are there. I’ll try that today after I get back from taking my guide dog to the Vet. I was having problems with ITunes & a friend suggested that I totally uninstall it & then reinstall.
