Glad you figured it out, with iTunes adding media to the library is always the 
crutial step. Using a flashdrive is of course OK, but of course it does limit 
you a bit since your music will only be available if your flash drive is 
connected and if, for some reason, it connects and the PC assigns a different 
drive letter, iTunes may not see the music on it. With only 1,300 songs you may 
want to copy them to your iTunes Media\Music folder on your hard drive.

Hi Again,

 

Well, I added my 13,00 songs back into ITunes & all is as it should be.  I now 
see all my songs & am able to create ringtones to my heart’s content.
