What are the best indicators of how powerful these packs are so I can
determine the best ones to get?

I'm curious. How do you all know if your battery pack has enough juice in
it or is done charging? I got one on a whim and, while I can just see the
little lights that indicate the power level in the pack, I'm guessing I'll
need a different battery pack when I eventually upgrade my phone and wonder
how you handle this. It was totally by fluke that mine has really bright
little lights that I can get into my tunnel vision, but if the lights were
red or some other kind of indicator, I don't think I could figure it out.
