I'd suggest reporting it to Apple. The bluetooth implementation on the speaker may be doing something wrong, but IOS and VoiceOver should never crash, even if it's getting something unexpected from a bluetooth device.

Hi Mary, I would definitely report it to UE, because we know it's not a
problem with all Bluetooth speakers. There is something about this one.

Interesting, Jonathan. I wonder if this is a voiceover problem or a UE
make a problem. I wonder that because we had a response from someone
who owns a boom, and they don't have the problem. What could possibly
be different in the firmware of the two speakers that could cause this
issue I wonder. I'm just not sure where to reported, Apple or you E.

Hi Mary, I have a Megaboom, well, two in fact, and yes I can confirm
this problem. I'm not sure if it's each and every time, but very
frequently at best.

Hi Tracy and anyone else who might be interested,
I have my UE megaboom haired successfully with two different eye
devices. I have noticed one consistent problem with both my for S
and my 5S. If I have music streaming and I hit the pause button or I
to finger double tap to pause, voice over crashes each and every
time. Have you noticed this?

Hi, I have the UE Boom — the middle size speaker.

Pairing the speaker & device is very simple. Switching devices is
also very simple. I haven’t tried this for a while, but the one
issue I was having… If you are trying to use 2 devices at once, I
couldn’t hear voiceover on my device. My favorite way to use the
speaker is with my braille display. That way voiceover doesn’t get
in the way of the music. :)

The app is somewhat accessible. The buttons for double up, alarm,
naming your Boom, are labeled. The new feature for powering on
your speaker from across the room, is not labeled, & I have
contacted them a couple of times about this.

I have worked around this by turning voiceover off, & generally
tapping in the top center of the screen. 9 times out of 10, I tap
the correct area & my speaker turns on.

Honestly, I rarely use the app. I don’t have much reason to until
I have a second speaker or need to update my current one.

On the side of the speaker though, I love it! Sounds great, still
portable, & feels quite rugged.

Good luck,
Traci

I can't remember if it was here or on another list where there was
a discussion of this speaker and it's accompanying app. I would
like to know people's comments on the app and how easy you found
it to pair the speaker with your eye devices and how easy it is to
change from one to another device.
