Hi,
I have a bit more hope than you perhaps. I stayed on the phone until I went up
the food chain through about 3 supervisors and up a few levels. The issue is
now known and understood. the people in the pulse department unlike the run of
the mill customer service reps do know what VoiceOver is and the issue has been
raised to critical. they called me to let me know that 28 minutes into
yesterday’s business day.
I’ve been quite vocal on twitter through which I was also the recipient of a
response that indicated understanding of the issue.
Perhaps you’d like to call again and join my wee advocacy effort for change a
fresh (smile).
I've found it requires patience but can yield fruit if one is willing to try,
be persistent and succinct and respectful but firm and insistent. I for one
have had dialogs with them about accessibility on prior occasions to a lesser
degree than this one. So they are aware that blind and visually impaired
people are amongst their customer base after all they offer keypads with speech
output.
I agree they’ve done a terrible job and the breakage that has resulted is
reprehensible and shameful Thus I told them in no uncertain terms all the
while remaining calm and respectful as best as I could.
Here’s hoping for the best.
Robin

Subject: RE: Problems With the ADT Pulse App Update

You can count the images and create a pin but it does no good to get into the
pulse app because everything in the app is totally inaccessible. They really
did a great job in breaking VO. We have contacted them via phone but they have
no idea what voice over even is. We were told they would pass the information
onto the correct people but I don’t hold much hope they will fix it. Big
disappointment.
