Hi, Greg, First of all, welcome to the list! You'll find many interesting topics and a lot of pointers and answers to questions.
As far as I've been using iTunes, and the App Store, (and I started using Apple products in 2012), I've always paid tax. I never did on Amazon when I used to buy music from them, but I've not been on Amazon to buy music in a long time. I also have a 6+ and absolutely love it. I like the fact that the battery lasts longer than it did in my iPhone 5. I first started out with a fourth generation iPod touch and now it seems obsolete! ☺️ Take care and I hope you enjoy this list.
