Ravpower makes one, and I got that on Amazon. The little cable built in to
it isn't more than a couple inches long though, but it does exist, and it
works good.

Such an external battery would be limited to idevices since the android
world uses micro USB for charging its products and manufacturers are smart
enough to build their batteries with both full sized USB and micro USB
ports so that with the appropriate cables, users of both iOS and android
devices can use their products. That just makes good economic sense.
