Well, having started the thread with that little slam on Mr. Alex, I think I have to defend him. Perhaps because I've used them on the Mac for several years now I really like Alex. I feel he is one of the more natural reading voices around, probably because he breeds, usually in the right place. I am underwhelmed with most of the voices that Apple provides. My favorites are actually from VoiceDream, but since I can't use those with voiceover, I use Alex. And I'm starting to use the female Siri voice enhanced for reading some novels, again because I have Kindle books and iBooks that I can't use my voice dream readers on. Mary
