An update to downcast was made available a few minutes ago. This version does not fix the problem recently noted which when double tapping while a podcast is playing starts the music player. It also caused a new bug which causes the volume to be much lower than the actual voice volume. Turning up the volume on the podcast player did not fix this. Rebooting the phone did though. However it did not fix the preexisting issue.
