It appears from what was said by the person who is running iOS 9.1 Beta that eventually this will be fixed. Remember that the official 9.0.1 release is not the same as the 9.1 Beta and typically the first major update where instead of 9.0.x it goes to 9.1.x does not come out until November. From what you can read and hear online it sounds like the 9.1 release will be somewhat tied to the availability of the new iPad Pro which will be some time in November. Until then or until that feature is fixed in one of the 9.0.x updates you are out of luck.
