Now this would be good. Whether you could then turn off bluetooth so that what
you use on the cabled keyboard is saved by lack of
bluetooth useage?
Does this work on all devices with a lightening port?
Of course, it could be a rechargeable keyboard and not use power via the lead
at all, just pass data.

Which just leaves: what is it, where from and how much, so more of us can
search for one.

Thanks, BobH.

Subject: Lightning Cable Keyboard

Hi all, I have purchased a keyboard with stand & a lightning connecter, instead
of bluetooth. First, I thought this was a really
cool idea. I liked the thought of not having yet another bluetooth device,
plus none of the bluetooth keyboard issues.

The keyboard has a dedicated home button, lock/unlock button, & a mail button.
In addition to media & volume keys.

What it is lacking is a function key. For those of you that use an external
keyboard frequently, would this be a deal breaker for
you? I cannot remember the commands I may be missing with no function key.

It has also occurred to me that I can only use the stand for a device in
landscape mode. I’m not seeing a way to use it in portrait
& tuck the cord away.
Lastly, & this may be a tiny personal gripe, but I find typing on it rather
loud. Lol! It makes me think of hearing typing on Tv
or movies.

So, bottom line for me personally, cool idea, but not sure if the $60 price is
worth it. Maybe if I regularly typed out long
documents. I am going to practice with it a bit more to remind myself of
navigation commands. Five years ago, when we got our
first iPad, I loved using a bluetooth qwerty keyboard with it. ;) Maybe it
has just been too long, and it isn’t my thing anymore.

In any case, I wanted to write about this, because before a few days ago, I
didn’t know lightning keyboards existed. It may be the
perfect solution for someone else.

Take care,
Traci
