Hi Kerri, No, this is not a problem for me with my 5S, it worked with iOS 9.0 and now also with iOS 9.0.1. When did you update? Have you rebooted your phone since you updated? Even if you have, I'd still close apps from the app switcher, turn the phone off, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. See if this fixes the problem.
