Could somebody explain exactly what they do and where the result of the measurement shows up? I did go through the calibration and set it to inches, then I use the virtual ruler style of measurement, but if I double tap start, wait for the tone, then move the phone and wait for another tone I get nothing.

Personally with my small trial I found it very accurate indeed. I started it and then moved it only about an inch and a half and it told me it had moved 1.43 inches. I haven't tried it with actual measurements yet but so far I think it is going to be very good.
