I just want to make sure I'm not miss-understanding this update the subject of
the message says 9.2 is taht right? Why did they skip 9.1? given 9.0.1 was
released I'm wondering if this is 9.0.2?

As I understand it, it's a minor bug fix release. It was just released this
afternoon, so it probably wasn't available when you checked for updates in
iTunes.
