Oh wow I’d missed this one.
thanks for teaching me something today. I wasn’t aware of this current
breakage. Glory can’t they get anything right lately (smile)? Has anyone
reported this one to the Audible folk?

The "Delete" button does indeed, at first glance, seem pointless. Here's
how the deletion process should work. The user double-taps the "Delete"
button. Then, right next to each title on the device, there is another
"Delete" button with the VoiceOver hint "delete from the device." If the
process were working normally, pressing this button would, in fact, delete
the book. Trouble is that the operation isn't working right for VoiceOver
users, but there is a work-around. After you have pressed the initial
"Delete" button, press the "Cloud" button followed by the "Device" button.
In other words, you are shifting focus from your device to the cloud and
back again. Once you have made this focus swap, the second button, the one
with the VoiceOver hint of "delete from device," magically appears. Press
this button, and the book will be gone.
