I think Don means to say that his internet connection is giving him download speed of 300 Mb per second which I guess would mean he has a direct to home fibre connection since cable or ADSL cannot provide such speeds.

I use Gmail, and I don't have any kind of recurring issue with the Gmail servers. Now that I'm running IOS 9.0.2, I do get error messages occasionally when trying to retrieve my email, but closing and restarting the Mail app always fixes this for me. This tells me that the problem is at Apple's end and not Gmail's.
