I live in Chicago and the bus systems for both the city and suburbs have data files with the GPS coordinates for all of their bus stops. Sendero products, although not the company’s iPhone app, can import this data for wayfinding. Many other transit systems have this information available. This sounds like a great hackathon project. Consider going to an app hack event in your city and pitching this idea.
