Siegard, I tried what you said, but that didn't work. Finally I started from scratch. I restored the phone and was unable, at first, to send and receive text messages from my 5 s. When I went to settings, then send and receive, it let me sellect two emails where I could receive i messages, but, my telephone number was dimmed. I don't know what happened, but, after a while, my number showed up twice. One time it was dimmed, and the other time, I was able to sellect it. Can't figure it out, but, at least, for now, it is working. Thank you for all of the help and suggestions.
