Hello Gerardo, As Ben already said I also think you should upgrade. Security is one good reason, the other good reason are some nice features and the fact that it will run as good or maybe even better. Just one piece of advice: before you update do yourself a favour and follow at least a few of the steps I am outlining below. I know Apple does not say this is required, most people don't do this and most have no problems, but chances are that if you end up with issues after the upgrade, they could have been avoided by doing what I recommend:
1. Backup your phone, if you have a computer with iTunes an encrypted backup to iTunes is best, otherwise an iCloud backup will do. Now, I know you are in Mexico and I believe you have just received this phone. If you have nothing really on it as in many apps, done a lot of setting changes and so on, it would actually be best if you install iOS 9.1 and then set up as a new phone and start fresh. Your decision. 2. After you backup (or not), bring up the app switcher with a quick double press of the home button. Make sure you close/remove all apps. I can't remember if in iOS 7 this is still done the old way where you have to double tap and h old on an app and then double tap all the apps to remove them or if you can already remove apps by swiping up with 3 fingers, but just make sure there is nothing in the app switcher. 3. Now as a minimum, reboot your device which means hold the power button until the message to power off shows up on the screen, then double tap the power off button. Wait at least 30 seconds, then turn your phone back on. My recommendation actually is to not only reboot your phone, but to go into Settings > General > Reset and then to find "Reset Network Settings" and to double tap. Confirm that you want to Reset and after a few seconds your phone will reboot. Once your phone boots up again and you have unlocked the screen, you will have to go into Settings > WiFi and reconnect to your WiFi including entering the password. Also, if you had renamed your iPhone in Settings > General > About, you have to go back there since Reset Network Settings renames your iPhone back to the default which is simply "iPhone". You can double tap on that (it's the first option on the About screen) and enter anything you want, e.g. "Gerardo's iPhone". After you type the new name, double tap "Done" at the bottom right of the on-screen keyboard. 4. Now go into Setings > General > Software Update and do your over the air update although with such a big jump from iOS 7 to iOS 9.1 I would recommend you upgrade via iTunes as long as you have a computer with the latest version of iTunes which you would need. 5. After the updae is complete you can then restore from your backup if you decided to make one and do that or you can set up as a new device, then start by customizing Voiceover settings, the layout of your apps on the home screen, making folders, setting up your email account(s) etc. Regards, Sieghard -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gerardo Corripio Sent: Saturday, November 14, 2015 4:10 AM To: viphone Email List <[email protected]> Subject: IPhone 4s with IOs7.1.1 to upgrade or wait?
