I use them a lot, although if its some one that doesn't use them, I have Kik messenger, Facebook Messenger, which has a hidden keyboard shortcut, command+Return to send the message which makes it a lot easier for me to use. Those, along with iMessage, is all I need, really, since what'sApp requires money to use, so I just use Facebook, Kik, and iMessage.
